This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

60 years together is definitely worth celebrating!

It was a Tuesday evening, April 24, 1956 when a strapping young man married his young beautiful bride. He was 26 and she was just 18. Their love story started two years prior, but officially began on this day and has stayed strong all these years.
They were to be the first couple married in their newly built church. It was a beautiful, big, traditional wedding.
I love this picture of my parents with their parents.
"We've only just begun!"
"A kiss for luck and we're on our way!"
Fifty years later us kids threw them a big anniversary party in my sister's barn. The wedding cake was a duplicate to their original wedding cake. Click here to read more about their 50th anniversary party.
It was a happy 50th celebration with their kids and grandkids around them. We were ahead of our time, this was before Pinterest!
This year on April 24, 2016 (not 2019! haha) we had an intimate little family gathering to celebrate their 60th.
I picked out these cute outfits for them so they would be matching. They look so cute and happy!
My sisters and I just planned a simple dessert with punch, coffee, candy and nuts. The two little lovebird figurines were always in our home when I was growing up. I found them when we moved them and just had to keep them and thought they would be so cute as table decorations for the party.
We displayed their wedding book and I brought along my Precious Moments cake topper that I recently blogged about (click here to read). We had Hot Tamales which are one of Mom's favorite candies and black licorice which is Daddy's.
They are still deeply in love and very affectionate.
They are King and Queen today!
My sisters and I with our parents.
We just had a small gathering of our immediate family. It was just right.
Mamma telling some cute story.
Megan & Cameron just have 58-1/2 years and Grayson & Rachelle have 59-1/2 more years to catch up to Grammie and Grandpa!
Hayden and Eryn are just starting their love story.
My husband having a discussion with my brother-in-law. I teased them and said they are talking about how to keep their wives happy! haha By the way, Kelli and Ralph will be celebrating 34 years of marriage in May, Eric and I will celebrate 34 years in July and Kathi and Stacey celebrate 33 years of marriage in September. Also, my father-in-law and mother-in-law would have just celebrated their 61st in November, but sadly my mother-in-law passed away before they got to 60. I guess long term marriages run in the family!
My sweet father-in-law congratulating my parents.
I love all these people! They have known each other since my hubby and I were dating!
My husband has always enjoyed my parents and vice-versa.
My sister bought them a thoughtful gift of an adult coloring book they can both use.
I thought this was so sweet. Eryn was looking at their wedding book with them.
They are both reading their cards they gave to each other.
The monarch and matriarch of our family with many of their grandchildren. We are so blessed!
Their hands with their wedding rings, April 24, 1956.
Their hands and same wedding rings 60 years later. Beautiful, helpful loving hands that have worked together for 60 years.

Happy 60th Anniversary Mamma and Daddy!

"May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth." Proverbs 5:18

Sharon I just love this post. Would love to have known your parents but in a way I do through your blog. In October we will celebrate our 56th. We were young but once we made the commitment we knew it would be forever. Thank you so much for sharing.
