This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Our 4th of July this year....

We had a quiet yet lovely 4th of July this year. We started with breakfast on the deck with the family!
Cameron and Megan spent the night with us and it was so much fun having them with us in the morning for breakfast. Mackenzie,Brittany and Ridley were out of town with friends and Grayson and Rachelle were at her mother's house because it also happens to be her mother's birthday!
Hayden was with us though!
At about 10:30, we drove down to main street where we had reserved seating to see the parade (because I put our lawn chairs there two nights prior!). Cameron and Megan are waiting in anticipation for the big parade! Of note, this is the first time we have driven to the parade since we moved 5 miles out of town! Our old house was just blocks from main street, so we always walked.
Cool Hayden enjoying the show!
Eric and I celebrating!
Grayson and Rachelle joined us to watch the parade.
I was impressed by these sheriffs riding horses!
We love our small town parade because we always see so many friends. Here's Eric admiring our son's good friend's new baby girl! Isn't she precious!
What a cute float representing the local library.
We always enjoy the vintage cars!
Now that's a patriotic float!
These hippies cracked us up!
More hippies in their love van!
Isn't Rachelle's hair cute!
What's a small town parade without an antique firetruck?
What a cute and patriotic float!
Later Eric and I walked around the park where it appeared the whole town was gathering! We had an ice coffee and caught up with friends.
Later we went to the local grange where they had a cute display for the first time in many years.
I loved seeing all the homemade goodies.
These pears got first place!
So cute!
Someone entered their butterfly collection.
Oh...I really like this collection of enamelware!
Some cute little lady's pitcher collection.
Homemade aprons.
Lovely homemade quilts!
We walked around more and found the big car show, I love this huge monster truck!
Whoa! Snazzy!
Super cool!
I loved walking around with my hubby!
We had fun, but we were ready to head home to do......
......this...yep, while other people were going to the lake, ocean and rivers, we went home and painted!
Eric painted the house yellow several weeks ago and these two little houses in our backyard were next.
It felt really good to get these done!
Our cute pets were enjoying the "tent" they thought we made just for them. Actually, it was just a drop cloth, but it sure cracked me up when I found them both sleeping under it!
We were empty-nesters for dinner and usually we go to our friend's traditional 4th of July barbecue, but they were remodeling this year and canceled it, so we had our own barbecue!
Eric made us a bonfire and we sat out there and ate and visited.
Blondie and MacGyver were with us too.
I absolutely LOVED this special time with my husband!
We were on the lookout for our new woodland friends, a little buck and a little doe, we think they are brother and sister and they come down to feed on our apple trees every evening.
We decided not to drive into town to watch the fireworks. We actually saw a few from our house, but we were so tired, so we hit the sack early. We realized one more thing that we love about being out in the country.....you don't hear any neighbors shooting off fireworks! It was so peaceful and quiet, we fell fast asleep!

I hope you had a wonderful 4th too!

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." II Corinthians 3:17

So good to see you all again. What a fun American relaxing day. When did your other song get engaged? You will have to share some time. Love the yellow houses! Hope the goats are doing well. Prayers for your parents. Cant wait to see the upcoming wedding.
