This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Easter!

We had such a fun Easter this year! We had a huge family dinner for 18 people at our house with all our kids, both sets of parents, my uncle George and my sister, Kelli, and her family.
I wanted to have a sit down meal, so I set the big farm table and a card table. I used simple white dishes and clear wine glasses this year and placed a chocolate on every plate. I didn't have any springy napkins and could not find any at the store, so I went to the dollar store and purchased green wash rags at two for a buck. They worked great and I figured after the meal, I would just wash them and put them in the towel drawer for every day use!
Here's the card table, I'm ashamed to say that I didn't iron the tablecloth, I simply ran out of time. Oh well, I don't think anyone cared!
Before I show you how our dinner went, first lets go through the house and I'll show you our Easter decorations. I decorated my super neat extra long silver tray with my amazing vinatagey looking rabbits. I found the tray at a garage sale for $5.00 and the rabbits were another garage sale find at $10.00 for the set. I then sprinkled ceramic eggs all around and I placed candles and a lovely bouquet of lilacs from my very own lilac bush!
I hung some light up Easter eggs on the china hutch in the family room.
I placed bunnies and eggs all throughout the room, and candy too!
Here's a little display on top of the small buffet in the family room.
I love the vintage feel of the faux chocolate egg!
In the dining room I placed a pretty vase filled with cherry blossoms in between Mr. and Mrs. Bunny.
This is my display on top of my pie safe in the kitchen.
Faux chocolate bunnies mixed with fun Easter antiques.
I like to sprinkle my antique chicks all over my house.
My windowsill display of more baby chicks and rabbits.
 Vintage postcard with lilac sprig.
A small display in the powder room.
Well, the coffee's ready and our company's here!
 Mom and Dad!
 Jim and Alice!
 My hubby and I!
 Mackenzie, Brittany and Ridley!
My Dad and his brother, George! We don't have a back patio, so we always gather out on the driveway. We have plans to make a big backyard patio by the end of summer so that we can entertain back there instead! For now though, this works just fine! We have a long driveway, so we are far enough from the road and have lots of privacy.
 Brittany, Rachelle and Ridley.
I love this candid shot of the girls with Ridley, it's so sweet!
Cameron put Grandpa Leonard's hat on Ridley.
 What a cutie pie!
The food's all ready, come and get it!!!
We had a houseful! I loved it!!! You can see Cameron and Megan standing at the left there, I was bummed that I didn't get a close up photo of them together and I also didn't get one of Grayson and Rachelle together or Hayden up close. I also failed to get a picture of my sister and her family, but you can see my brother-in-law, Ralph visiting with Mackenzie.
Hayden and Grayson are visiting with my nephews Samuel and Joseph.
We had such a lovely meal!
 And so did little mister!
This is the lily that my grandson gave me. Isn't it gorgeous! After it was done blooming, I planted it in the backyard right below my kitchen windowsill!

We had a great Easter and I hope you did too! Jesus died for us and arose again and we have much to be thankful for!

"For God so loved the world that He gave us His one and only son, that whoever believeth in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Hugs, Sharon

really lovely!! As always love all of your decorations. Dont know how you find so many good things. love that long tray. I have several oval and round found at GW but not that big. that is unusual and perfect for the table. the wash cloth idea was great! thanks for sharing. Ridley is really growing up- will be walking soon.
