This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

They do stuff differently in the country......

Apparently some folks do things differently in the country than us city folks. As my husband has been working around on our property, he kept finding big piles of old junk that the previous owners did not want, old fence posts, car parts, wires, tires, etc. He was getting really frustrated, because every time he cleared out a patch of blackberry bushes it would reveal yet another pile of junk. He coined the phrase, "They don't throw things away....they just throw them out of the way!"

He found tons of old junk, but this topped them all! He hired some men to come over and prepare the foundation for our new shop and while they were working Eric notice something shiny. He asked the guy who was driving the big backhoe if he could bring it over to that area and dig a little bit. They were all shocked to see what was unearthed. This huge 4 man Jacuzzi tub! It looks like when they remodeled the house they got rid of it, but instead of taking it to the dump they simply buried it! Isn't that crazy! And it wasn't like it was way out in the fields, it was right in the front parking area! We are certain there are more things under there, but Eric said he does not want to open up that can of worms, so we just laid more gravel down and compacted the whole area.

So, apparently, things are done differently in the country sometimes! But I don't think we will be going that route, we will be taking our old junk to the dump!

Happy Labor Day!

"For even when we were with you, we would give you this command:  If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living." II Thessalonians 3:10-12

O Sharon- you dont know the half of it. i have lived in a rural area before in Texas, closest neighbor down the road - had a black panther come up in the back yard too! and now I am in a rural town- and I know what you are saying- it is everywhere out here, even in people's front yards- unreal. no telling what you will find out there.
