Welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy reading about my busy life with my husband of 30 years and our four sons and daughter-in-law. We are now empty nesters and my blog is helping me through the journey. I love the Lord and I love my family. I also love to decorate and go to thrift stores!
When we were in the middle of our big electrical project, my husband really needed help to get some water pipe laid in a hurry, so he called in the big guns. All four of our sons came over and helped on a Wednesday night after all of them put in a full day's work at their jobs.
Mackenzie's shoveling dirt into the ditch.
Cameron's filling the ditch as well.
Grayson's helping Eric figure out the backyard watering system and laying the water pipes.
Hayden cut some small trees to get them out of the way of the shop.
They all worked so hard for their Dad. We have amazing sons and I'm so very proud of each and every one of them. What's so neat is that they all came over willingly, not begrudgingly and they worked hard and fast and were talking and laughing the whole time. They did not get compensated and did not expect anything in return for their labor. They love their Dad and I and each other.
We ordered pizza for dinner and the girls and I decided to bake something good for dessert.
Brittany, Megan and I picked a bunch of the wild blackberries on our property (Rachelle was not able to join us on this evening).
There are beautiful ripe blackberries growing wild all over our property. My husband says they are not native to Oregon and they are invasive weeds, so he will be removing most of them, but we will enjoy them while we have them!
I was so grateful for the help of the girls!
Brittany's getting big! It's so exciting! She looks adorable!!!
I loved this night!
We all tried to pick at least 2 cups. They are hard to get because of all of the thorns!
What a bounty!
We went inside and made a gorgeous cobbler! I love it that the girls are all such great cooks and love to help in the kitchen!
Megan's pouring the topping all over the berries preparing it to bake.
As we were all outside, I looked up and saw the boys working hard in the field and the girls picking berries and it was one of those moments that I was almost moved to tears. I felt so very blessed for so many things, my husband, our family, my sons, their girls, our new grandson coming, our new home, this property, wild blackberries, the list goes on and on. God has been so good to me. Sadly, the backdrop to my pretty picture is a very, very stressful extended family situation that seems to try and rob me of these beautiful times. I am trying to give it all to God, but it is very difficult when it is someone you love and someone else is taking advantage of them and manipulating them. God sees all and knows all and His justice will prevail.

Blondie is anxiously awaiting to go on our morning walk.
She knows that when I get out her leash, it's a good thing!!!
I took these pictures on our first ever morning walk at the new house! I can't wait to get out there!
I crossed the main road in front of our house and then turned down this beautiful quiet country road!
I cannot even begin to describe how beautiful it is out here!
It's so quiet too!
The route is two miles long...one mile in and one mile out.
I stopped and took notice of all the beautiful sites around me including these beautiful little yellow daisies and....
...these dainty little white flowers.
Even the weeds are beautiful!
There are lots of blackberries out here.
Blondie and I are having fun!
There's cows way out there in that field next to the trees.
The landscape is so beautiful!
I cannot believe this is my new life!!!!
I love how this blackberry vine is arched over.
What a pretty picture!
There's a creek that runs behind these trees. I love the moss hanging on them!
You can see the creek when you are standing on the bridge.
I love creeks. They remind me of when I was a little girl.
We had such a nice walk!
Let's keep going!
There's a bend in the road.
I love this gate!
I love this old beat-up mail green mailbox! I think I'm going to make our mailbox look like this. I think it is so charming!
The fields just go on and on!
Love this quaint barn.
Look what Blondie spotted! A huge bull!
Oh my gosh...I cannot believe that observing these amazing cows will be part of my daily routine!
A lovely old barren tree.
Here's another view of that cute barn.
There are gorgeous oak trees all over out here!
What a beautiful lane to walk down!
Thank you God, so much for this dream come true!
Another charming driveway and gate!
These two horses remind me of the scary twins that are in those creepy movies! haha!
Well....we made it to the end.....
.....it's time to turn around and.....
......let's head back home!
"Good-bye cows...I'll see yo next time!
Blondie and I had such a lovely time!
There's our house.....way out there to the right.
This fence looks familiar!
Home sweet home!
Dear Lord, I praise you so much for our new home and this beautiful country life that we get to live! Thank you so much that I have this nice quiet street right next to me that I get to take my walks on! I am so very thankful!!!
