This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Taking a break...

I'm going to take a break for a little while. I'm not sure for how long. Blogging has lost it's luster for me for now. Instead of actually quitting, I have decided to take a little break.

I started this blog in 2007 to help me deal with my empty nest emotions and also, hopefully, to minister to people who come here. That was six years ago and I'm kind of thinking that this phase of my life is over and I'm questioning if I want to continue blogging or not. My blog became so much more than just to talk about empty nest, it turned out to be so much fun when I first started. I really enjoyed meeting other bloggers and having a little community of blogging friends. It also became my on-line journal, as well as creative writing and creative photography outlets. But, even with all of those good things, I do think it's time for me to take a little break.

I have been thinking a lot about maybe changing my blogging style to more just decorating and home tips rather than talking so much about my family. I will be in fervent prayer about it. Thank you for being such faithful readers of my blog, I pray that all of you have a blessed day!

"Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4

Hugs, Sharon

Sharon...I do not have a blog, but I have been a follower of yours since the beginning. I technically "follow" several, but there are about 4-5 that I read every post and yours is one. Follow your own heart, but please know that you, your husband and the boys/girls and pets will be missed! It has been a treat to read about a REAL family and real issues. You have made it seem like we have a real friend to go out walking with in the morning and a nice place to come visit and have a cuppa and a visit in the afternoon! I love decorating and home stuff, too, so try to come back once in awhile if you are of a mind to! Enjoy your rest and know there are people who will miss you...wishing you the best...and prayers for all your parents as well Lynne

Sharon--I just wanted you to know how you have inspired me so by sharing stories about your wonderful family and your Christian values. I feel that I have grown as a wife and mother by reading your blog, and consider you a dear friend, even if we have never met in person! Your devotion to prayer about your family has been such a blessing to me. I hope you will find a way to stay in touch--but I totally understand needing time to recharge! Blessings and prayers-

I just love your blog and all the things on it- decorating, entertaining, family life. Why I like it is because it is real and relatable. Follow your heart - will sure miss your blog if you stop ( I loved your sisters blog too - miss that one too :) it was one of my favorites as it too was real life and relatable . You need to follow what's best for you and your family and lots of new things ahead for you :)
I hope your parents are doing well and they are in my prayers-

All the best to you and your family

I too have been blogging since 2007, so I know what you mean. I have over the years wondered too about continuing to blog. I love your blog and love reading about your life, you have inspired me in many ways. Enjoy your break and I will keep you in my prayer, that you will find the answer for what you need to do for you. As much as I'd hate for you to stop I totally understand.

Hi Sharon, I was sad to read this post and though I fully understand your reasons I will miss your blog so much. I think I sort of felt it coming and every day I opened the blog wondering if today would be the day...I hope you will return one day, and also I hope that the blog stays open so we can still read your old posts. I draw so much inspiration out of your beautiful words and photographs. God bless you and your wonderful family x

Oh Sharon I read your post with such mixed emotions! I know how stressed and tired you must be with dealing with the problems with your sweet parents! And I certainly can understand why you would need a blogging break to just rest and recuperate! I believe I have been a follower since the beginning of your blog. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed following the story of your everyday life and also your sweet family! You are such an inspiration to everyone that reads your blog. You truly have a God given gift to uplift people and also just relate to people on a very human level. I do hope you decide to continue to blog. You really are loved by so many people! We are so excited to hear about your grandchild in the coming months! Please take this well deserved blogging break and rest in prayer. God will give you the answers you are seeking and you will know exactly what you need to do! Just know I will still pray for your parents and your family! Would love you to check in from time to time! God bless you!
Hugs and take care,
PS I did wright a comment before this one but I think something went wrong with it. I apologize of you received two!

Just came by this evening to say hi,and am so sad to read this post, but understand... Sharon what a blessing you have been and are to me, I hope your break will be short. You are one of my favorite bloggers, and when I am on line one of the first blogs I read. I have been on an unannounced, and unintentional break. I take lots of photos, and each day plan a post, but farming keeps us so busy, and I too think I was a little burned out on my style ! I even started a new blog (not published yet), just praying about that too!

If you do change your style, I know I am going to continue to be blessed, I have so enjoyed your posts of your family, and of your daily journal, I feel so blessed that you have allowed me to read. We never know how our lives affect others in such a positive way. I truly believe your posts about your faith and the daily schedule has blessed so many people, I know I have been blessed beyond words.Though we have never met, I feel as though I know you, and what a joy for me.
I will be looking for your return, May you continue to bask in God's glory.

WOW!!! :) and sad for your parents getting older - but I know there is so much to be thankful for along with all the struggle that is coming. hope you all are doing well and growing closer to HIm.

I just wanted to let you know that I have enjoyed reading your blog through the years. We are at about the same stage in life and I can relate to many of the things you post about.
You have inspired me in many ways and I will miss you if you decide to stop blogging, although I would certainly understand if you decide the time has come.
I hope that you enjoy your break and are led to the decision that is right for you.
