This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

More Christmas decorations...

Here are a few more pictures of our Christmas decorations. I wanted to show you in further detail the entry way table and then go upstairs.
I love this detailed brass reindeer.
A sweet little red bird in his cozy house hangs on the knob on our little cabinet.
Several years ago I made this feather tree.
I have my very, very special delicate antique ornaments hanging on it.
Some of these are so very old.
And very special too.
I love this old homemade ornament and use it for the tree topper.
I collect these fabulous old, shaped light bulbs from the 30s and 40s. This little caged bird was my very first one that I found. It was in a junk box at a garage sale for .25 cents! I actually found two of them.
Then I found this darling snowman and...
...this cute Santa.
Then I started picking up more and more like this Liberty bell.
A sweet flower.
A cozy cottage.
A precious bird.
These are some of my favorites.
I found this one at a flea market this summer. He's rare because he's so big.
I love this little cat musician. He has a hole in the bottom, but I still like him.
This one is so cool. It's a full size light bulb in the shape of a flame. I love how the paint has worn down into the grooves and really shows the detail.
Here's a sweet little girl in a dress with a rose on the front. I think she's had a hard life and she has seen better days, but she is safe with me now!
I found this neat, green, ceramic flowerpot of berries at Goodwill two weeks ago for only $3.00!
I started a new collection....
...beautiful needlepoint Christmas stockings!
I think they are so cozy. I have admired them for many years, but never picked them up because for some reason I thought they all should match. I finally realized that it's actually cuter that they don't match!
The work that went into them is simply mind boggling. I only have a couple that are truly handmade and the rest are machine made, but I still love them. I decided to get one for each person in our family and someday when we move, if we have a fireplace in our family room, I will hang them in there. For now, I hung these three on the stair railing.
I love the view from the top of the stairs. Hey...if you look close, you can see my little helper down there! Hi Kitty!
I put a wreath on this old birdhouse to give it some Christmas cheer!
On the landing at the top of the stairs I displayed our nativity scene; the true reason for the season.
I bought this nativity about 30 years ago when my husband and I were newlyweds. I bought it at one of those Christmas Around The World home parties. I found those wonderful Wise Men a few years ago; they compliment our set very well.
I found this sweetie last year and my son adapted her to be a light fixture. Click here to read more about how he did it.

Every true junker girl has a bejeweled light up Christmas tree! Love, love, love!!!
The upstairs powder-room has a few decorations. This snowman has been in the boy's bathroom for many, many years!
Cute!
For years I had a fun mini Santa snow globe in their bathroom, but one year it broke, so this year I found a replacement with this jolly fella!
In our new bonus room I added a few touches.
I love this funky-tacky-but-cool reindeer garland!
A few years ago I would have thought this was so awful in it's plastic glory...
...but oh have I changed! I love it now!
I adore this light up Santa in his sled full of gifts!
I found this cheery snowman at Goodwill a few weeks ago for only .49 cents!
How do you cozy up a gihugic TV? You simply put nutcrackers, a Merry Christmas sign and a Christmas candle in front of it!
I love this new battery candle that I found at a thrift store!
A cute tartan box filled with Christmas books!
One of my most valued treasures....a basket full of my boys homemade "Happy Birthday Jesus"cards. So sweet and oh so precious!
I nestled this old cookie tin at the base of my singer sewing machine.
More needlepoint stockings!
The last room in our home tour today is the guest room.
Another light up Santa.
Vintage cards tucked into my antique typewriter.
A very, very old Santa book sitting next to this gnome looking Santa doll.
Creepy or comfy? I'm not so sure... haha
Again, an old thing from the 70s that I once would have labeled tacky and now I love it! It's a mini tree on a wind up music box stand.
It has these fabulous spun cotton and pipe cleaner characters all over it. Here's a little elf.
A snowman and Santa.
Here's a sweet angel.
I love this sweet little plastic deer at the base.
Here's another vintage stocking. These oldies are getting hard to find, I own two of them and I love them!
Here's more decorations on this side of the room.
Here's another fun stocking. It obviously was a piece of fabric that was printed and then you cut it out and sew it together. I'm thinking that whoever made this didn't do it right. Don't you think that they should have cute it and sewed it along the lines of those big black stitches? I'm not sure though. Either way, it's adorable!
These are some of my favorite decorations, sweet little angel girls spelling out Noel!

Christmas will be here in just three days if you count today! Wishing you and yours a very merry day!

Hi Sharon,
It's Dec. 26th & I'm just seeing this now. I've been MIA for over a week. Boo hoo. Trying to play catch-up.

Your decorations are beautiful. Love the needlework stockings indeed! You are so creative & clever, decorating every nook & cranny. So neat. I too, love all those old plasticy (Is that a word?) decorations. Oh, they SMELL good too (usually, LOL!) I will be on the lookout for those screw in bulb ornaments for you. Your collection is very nice. I think the cat one is frowning because of his boo boo!
