Welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy reading about my busy life with my husband of 30 years and our four sons and daughter-in-law. We are now empty nesters and my blog is helping me through the journey. I love the Lord and I love my family. I also love to decorate and go to thrift stores!
A couple of weeks ago my sister and her two beautiful daughters came to spend the night with me.
We planned a really fun girls weekend! I also invited my daughter-in-law, Brittany, but she could not make it.
We had such a fun time together!
They got there on Friday night at about 7:00 and we just hung out on the back deck and talked and then came inside and watched the cutest Dorris Day movie called The Glass Bottom Boat.
The next day we woke up and hit the road for a day of garage sales and thrifting!
It was so hot, so we bought lemonade from some darling kids at one of the garge sales.
Party in the car!!! haha!
I admired these beautiful flowers in front of this picket fence so much that I stopped to take a picture.
Aren't they gorgeous!
We went to a ton of garage sales and we all hit pay dirt! It was so fun! Then we stopped at our favorite restaurant, Taco Time and had deep fried bean burritos, which is a family tradition!
After that we went to St. Vincent De Paul and Goodwill. Victoria was so excited when she found this big basket of Pez dispensers!
She collects them and was so excited, she's never seen so many in one store before! She limited herself to just five because they were .99 cents each, but when she got to the checkout stand, they were only .29 cents each and it was too late to run back for more. Oh well....there's always next time!
Jessica found a very interesting book on how to catch a man by baking! haha!
She also played the piano in the corner for the whole store to enjoy. She's self taught and plays by ear and she plays very well!
Woot-woo! What a fun time we had!!!
The girls were not happy that they had to wait so long for us in the car! haha...nah...they were just teasing us.
They decided to spend one more night ad we all went out for chinese food!
Yum! It was really good and so much fun!
When we got home we brought all our treasures into the living room and we had show and tell!
It was so much fun seeing what everyone else bought. I love it that the girls are so thrifty and love getting good bargains! We all got wonderful things for super cheap!
After that we made popcorn and watched a super scary movie called "What lies beneath" oh my goodness it was frightening!!!!! But it was a fun scary, kind of like a roller-coaster ride!
I loved their visit and can't wait until they come again! Maybe next time our other sister, Kelli, and her daughter, Whitney, will join us as well as my daughter-in-law, Brittany.
