Welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy reading about my busy life with my husband of 30 years and our four sons and daughter-in-law. We are now empty nesters and my blog is helping me through the journey. I love the Lord and I love my family. I also love to decorate and go to thrift stores!
Eric first made his appearance into my teenage diary on November 18, 1977. He bumped into me as we were walking out of our PE class and he said, "Excuse me." He was a senior and I was a junior. He was a handsome, popular, nice guy and I was a silly little girl. A few weeks later on December 3, 1977, we officially met and he got my phone number, and that's when our love story began. I was smitten!
Man oh man, I could not believe this handsome guy was interested in me.
I was crazy in love! We were high school sweethearts and here's my old decorated Pee-Chee to prove it!
We used to write love letters and poems to each other. He named this one Fox Fever, Sharon Fever! Awww...that's so sweet!!!
He always drew little stick figures at the end of the letters. I love this one!
I made him these two collages. I was a typical teenage girl and was crazy about this boy!
Here's a picture of us at his senior prom.
Here's a picture of us together at high school sitting in the student courtyard.
We were so young!
I was just 16 and he was 17 when we met.

We used to water ski a lot.
My hunk! You can see a small picture of me water skiing there to the right.

In January of 1981 we got engaged. I found this receipt for the engagement ring. It cost $199.00. It was a tiny little diamond, but I loved it and was so proud to wear it!
We set the date for July 31, 1982. Here's our wedding invitation.
We decided to get married in my parents back yard. Here's Eric and my father building the stage.
Here I am at my family bridal shower.
Me with my mother, mother-in-law and two sisters.
Some of my girlfriends!
I worked at a department store and the girls there threw me a wedding shower too.
It was a wonderful old store and there were so many older ladies who worked there.
It was a wonderful, rich experience to work with these women!

Our announcement in the local paper. It's amazing to read all the detail they used to put in these announcements, they even describe my dress and bouquet!
Our first home, sweet, home. We lived in a little duplex on Anchor street. What great memories we had!
Here's our first cozy kitchen! I still remember the first meal I made my new husband....meatloaf, baked potatoes and green beans. We were so happy!
I documented our first anniversary in our wedding book.
We were so happy!
We're still so happy!
I'm so thankful to the Lord for my wonderful husband and happy marriage. Like everyone else, we've had our share of ups and downs, but it really has been mostly ups. I give God the glory for guiding us through and giving us strength, love and commitment.
Happy 30th anniversary Eric! I love you so much!
