Welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy reading about my busy life with my husband of 30 years and our four sons and daughter-in-law. We are now empty nesters and my blog is helping me through the journey. I love the Lord and I love my family. I also love to decorate and go to thrift stores!
These are just a few extra pictures from things that happened in the last few days before Hayden's graduation.
As he was getting his scrapbook together....
...he found his athletic letter...
...and he gathered up all of his varsity sports letter pins and pinned them on. He didn't want a letterman's coat, so he just pinned them on and will hang it on his wall in his room. Pretty cool huh! This is a huge accomplishment; he lettered in varsity football for four years, track for four years and basketball for two. This little letter represents his hard work and commitment to athletics, which earned him a great college scholarship!
The day after Hayden graduated we drove up state together to watch my niece and his cousin, Victoria, graduate.
There she is!
Me with sister, Kathi. She's a proud mama!
Hayden watching the graduation. You can see his cousin, Harrison on the other side of him.
Victoria just received her diploma!
Victoria and her proud family!
Victoria with her good friends. They all walked barefoot! haha!
Mother and daughter!
Me with Victoria and Hayden, our two 2012 graduates!
After Victoria's graduation Hayden and I had to stop by the grocery store and pick up the cake and sub sandwiches for his grad party the next day. He was cracking me up as he was racing through the parking lot with the grocery cart!
That night we went back to the Edge of the River event venue (the same place where we had the senior breakfast) and we had a graduation party. On the way in we saw the beautiful peacock again!
This was a party that the Grad committee members put on in honor of our kids who graduated and we invited family and friends. We planned our own family/friend party for Hayden, so Eric, Hayden and I went alone.
Everyone brought yummy dishes and the men barbecued chicken, ribs and salmon.
The boys all wolfed it down!
Then they all swam together.
Hayden being silly on the slide.
They were all feeling really good because they were all graduates now!
The next day we went to church where they honored the high school and middle school graduates. Hayden was the only high school graduate.
I thought it was very sweet that they prayed over these kids.
The church also gave him a beautiful card and a nice gift certificate.
In other news, Mackenzie and Brittany bought another new car! They brought it over to Hayden's graduation party for us to see!
It's a Volkswagen SUV.
They sold Mackenzie's little truck and he takes this new car to work. He has a long commute and this car has double the gas mileage. I am so happy for them!
They Monday after Hayden graduated, him and some buddies from school all went to the lake. I wish I was there with them!!!
I snagged this pictures off of Facebook because they are just so cute.
They obviously were celebrating and having a great time! What a great weekend we had! It was busy, busy, busy, but also so much fun and so rewarding!
