This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Mr. Bulldog padgeant!

My son is in the Mr. Bulldog pageant! This is a non-traditional pageant to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network. Most of the high schools in our county participate in this wonderful pageant. Contestants are judged in a number of categories, including creativity, personality, faculty review, and individual fundraising. They will be putting on a big show the night of the pageant on March 10th.
Being a Mr. Bulldog contestant is a great honor at our school. Only nine boys were selected to be a part of the pageant and Hayden was chosen! One neat part of the program is that the contestants get to go to the local hospital and tour the neonatal unit where their earned monies will go.
I didn't go on the tour, but I snagged these pictures from the coordinator of the kids, Barbara.
Hayden told me that the tour was really good and informative. There are also four senior girl coordinators and four junior girls who help the boys do everything.
The best part was getting to see the newborn premie babies. First they all had to put scrubs on.
Hmm....Hayden looks good like this, maybe some day he'll be Dr. Hayden!
This is what it's all about, earning money for the sweet babies.
I'm really proud of all of these boys, they are all putting in countless hours to raise money for the babies.
A few weeks later at the basketball game the boys did a little dance at half time. Eric's parents, Jim and Alice came along to watch.
Cameron was there too....
...and so was Grayson.
The boys came out and were ready to dance!
They did a 50's themed dance.
Their Mr. Bulldog pageant theme is based off the move Grease, so this sock hop was perfect.
Hayden was funny!
They were all funny!
Most of these boys are great athletes, but they struggle with the dancing thing! Haha!
Hayden's busting a move!
And there's the big finish!
After the dance they all grabbed their money jars.
This part is called a Mad Dash for Cash and the boys run up into the audience with their jars and try to get money.
Grandma had money ready to put in Hayden's jar!
It was really fun when they all came up into the bleachers. Cameron and Grayson were really funny and they not only put money in Hayden's jar, but also left funny notes with their phone numbers on them.
They were all racing all over the place!
Hayden did really well!

He ended up getting over $100.00!

Two of my other son's, Mackenzie and Grayson, also participated in the Mr. Bulldog pageant as well. Cameron chose not to participate when he was a senior.
I didn't have a blog back when Mackenzie did it, but here are a few pictures of him. Here he's rapping in one of his skits.
And here he is carrying his little cousin, Garrett, for the Little Buddy segment of the show. He was the crocodile hunter, they looked so cute!
This was the part where they honored their moms. I was so proud of him!
Grayson was on the pageant in 2009. Here he is reliving the Dr. Phil mattress surfing with his Little Buddy. It was hilarious!
And here he is singing with his friend AJ.
And here's Grayson and I together. Click herehere and here to read more about Grayson.
Hayden's the third boy in our family to be in the pageant, maybe this year we will bring home a crown! Haha! No, it doesn't matter! They are all working hard for the babies and they are all winners!

"In everything I have pointed out to you that, by working diligently in this manner, we ought to assist the weak, being mindful of the words of the Lord Jesus, how He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20: 35

Oh my! What a wonderful cause and tradition. It would be great if more high schools did this! Do you know who won (& how is the winner picked?)

I LOL'd at the dance pictures. Would have loved to be there to witness that. Bet they got a standing ovation!

Way to go Dawgs!! :o)

Hi Mardell! How are you? I hope well!

I should have made it clear that the actual padgeant isn't until next Saturday 3/10 and the Mr. Bulldog King will be crowned then. Right now they are doing all kinds of activities to raise money for the babies. Tonight they are playing He-Man volleyball against three other schools that are in the same program and next week they will have a basketball team against the teachers at the highschool. It should be fun!
