This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Our last day in California and then home sweet home!

We did not have a lot planned for Friday because Eric went golfing with Mike. The boys and I slept in and then Hayden and I went shopping. We found this really cool action figure store; it's called PHAT Collectibles.
They had all kinds of old and new action figures. They also had some life-sized statues throughout the store. Upon closer inspection we realized that these were items actually used in movies!
They are worth a ton of money. This one from Star Wars of Han Solo is going for $3500!
Hayden was having fun looking at all the old things he used to collect.
This Darth Vader was actually on the movie set and is worth $12,000! Crazy stuff!
We also went to a fabulous dollar store and a thrift store where I found a very cool Victorian bust for only $2.50!
When we got home from shopping, all of us jumped in their boat again for a ride out into the ocean.
Grayson chilling out.
Misty loves to go on the boat!
We saw kayakers in the ocean.
Eric and I were having fun.
Mike and Rhochelle are too!
There's an oil refinery way out in the ocean.
Hayden deep in thought.
Grayson.
Hayden.
Hayden, Misty and I.
It was a beautiful day!
We saw a Carnival cruise ship and....
...the Queen Mary.
Isn't she beautiful! It's a luxury liner, much like the Titanic. Her maiden voyage was in 1936 and she sailed until 1967. She is now permanently moored at Port of Long Beach and is a dinner theater and hotel. I bet it would be really fun to spend the night there!
The city looks so beautiful!
What a fun time!
Misty's driving!
Now Rhochelle is!
Now Grayson is!
Eric and Mike good friends since grade school!
The sun is setting, time to go home.
Mike and Rhochelle's daughter Lisa, (front center) came home from college for Thanksgiving and she wanted to have a dinner with her girlfriends. So on Friday night Rhochelle made a fabulous pasta dinner for all the girls. My lucky boys were invited to eat with these 7 beauties! They all had a great night!
Well, the next day we got up early, had a big breakfast and hugged our friends goodbye. We hit the road for LA to go to Six Flags amusement park.
We had a very pleasant surprise! Every single time we've been to Six Flags it has been so crazy busy. After having the bad experience at Knott's Berry Farm with the crowds, we were not looking forward to the rush at Six Flags, but to our surprise, the place was almost empty! Look at this courtyard in front of one of the major rides, not a soul around! Woot-woo!!! Thank you Lord for this blessing!
Hayden is known at school as the "Flash" because he is a fast runner, so we had to get a picture of him with the Flash!
Cute kid!
The boys went on an extreme ride that Eric and I did not want to go on, so we jumped on the bumper cars!
We were the only people in there! That's just unheard of!
We went on the Apocalypse roller coaster and the sign out front said it would only be a 5 minute wait!
We could not believe it. Two years ago when we were here, we had to wait at least an hour for this ride!
It is a crazy fun wooden roller coaster. The boys wanted to go on it one more time (Eric and I didn't, we had had enough!) and because there were no lines, they just stayed right on it! Awesome!
Woot-whoo! Fun times!
We tried this cute boat ride and it was really fun.
Eric and I are snuggled up for the ride!
The sign says, "No standing" so what does Grayson do.....he stands of course! Well, just for a second to get a laugh.
Because the park was not busy, we went on so many rides that the boys were actually ready to leave the park two hours earlier than planned.
This was a good thing because once we got out there, the roads were soooo crowded and busy. Everyone was heading home after the Thanksgiving weekend.
Eric did a great job driving.
Hayden was so funny, we had a room with two queen beds, but he preferred to sleep on the floor!
Awe...they are so sweet!
We got up super early and were in the car by 5:30 am!
Destination: Home!!!
Once again.....the boys are sound asleep!
The sunrise was so beautiful!
McDonald's was our favorite stop for breakfast. We ate there many times on this trip!
There's Mt. Shasta! It is soooo big and so beautiful!
It's a foggy November morning.
The landscape was so beautiful on the way home. Fall is definitely in the air!
We're back to our little town!
Home sweet home indeed!!!!
It was so fun to reunite with our pets!
Our son, Cameron, house sat for us and took care of the pets for us, so we didn't have to worry. We really wanted him to come with us, but he could not take the time off of work. I felt bad leaving him alone for Thanksgiving, but he had a nice time with his friend's family. I snapped this picture before we left on the trip. He was not there when we got back home.
Hayden was so happy to see Blondie....
...and McGyver!
We had an awesome time and we are so grateful to God for His provision and safety on our trip. Vacations are so wonderful! You have so much fun, get to relax and forget about your troubles when you are there, and then at then end you start missing home and you appreciate your home. Yep, vacations are fun, but there's nothing like home sweet home!

"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makes me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8

Hugs, Sharon
