It was so nice to wake up this morning to the smell of bacon cooking! This morning it was Chris and Nicole's turn to cook breakfast.
Let's go check on the kids, they're still sleeping!
There's Mackenzie and Brittany sleeping sweetly.
There's Cameron dreaming away.
There's Hayden and Dustin sound asleep.
And there's Grayson, he wanted to sleep under the stars! Time to get up kids! It's breakfast!!!
Good morning everyone!
Mmmm! What a delicious breakfast of bacon, eggs and pancakes!
Well, it's time to pack up and get back on the river! Mackenzie is feeling so much better, so he's at the oars this morning.
Here's Cameron, Hayden and Dustin.
And here's Grayson and Garrett in their pontoons.
Day three of camping hair...time for braids. The hat is NOT optional today!
Today we are so much more relaxed and having fun. This is nice!
The only thing about today is that we have to get through two sets of dangerous rapids! This is the first set and they're called Bradford Rapids and they are class III rapids.
First we pulled over and everyone got out of the boats to access the situation. Most of the family members walked along the edge as the men took the boats through.
There's Eric getting ready to go through them. Oh Lord, please be with him!
So far, so good!
This is so scary for me to watch. Believe me, it is much more treacherous than these pictures show.
Whew, he made it!
Now he just needs to get our other two boats through!
Mackenzie and Brittany!
This was scary to watch, this is the boat that flipped and was under the water for hours. You can see the dent in the side there. I was concerned about how it would go through the rapids, but it did just fine! My husband really is a skilled boats man and we also know that the Lord was watching over him!
Okay, we got all the boats through, lets get back in and continue the float!
Fishing in the sun!
Everyone just chill'n and relaxing!
The fishing is so good up here!
Eric doing his favorite thing in the world!
My favorite thing in the world is being with my family and sitting in the sun!
Grayson and Garrett. They kept saying that they were self sufficient, especially when us moms would fuss over them and ask questions like, do you have your life jacket. But it was really funny because they both came to us several times wanting things like snacks, drinks, sunscreen etc. It was an ongoing joke, we would tease them and say "We would love to help you out, but you said you were self-sufficient!"
Nothing to do but fish!
Now this is the life!
Eric is multitasking! He's fishing and running the motor! haha!
He's trying to make waves to splash Grayson and Garrett!
And apparently Cameron!
Now the boys want a tow! Now that's the life!!!
Okay, we've traveled half the river, we need to get through the next set of rapids, which are the scariest, and then get through a long stretch of frog water and we'll be done with our trip. Come back tomorrow for our final day on the river!
