This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Umpqua Camping Trip Part IV

After the accident we loaded back into the boats and we had a quiet, long float down to the next campsite which was several miles away. Normally this stretch of the river is so much fun and we take our time and enjoy it with a lot of little stops along the way to fish and swim, but not this time. We were all very solemn and pensive. Eric tied all of our boats together and he used his motor to get us to the campsite as quickly as possible.
We finally arrived to our campsite and had a lot of work to do. We unpacked our boats and immediately opened up the kids sleeping bags and backpacks and laid everything out in the hot sun to dry. We also set up our tents, our "kitchen" and our fire pit. Here's Blondie taking a nap in the shade under the boat.
We finally caught up with Grayson on the river and filled him in on the whole story. He was sad that he was not with us to be able to help. He decided to leave Garrett with his family and he joined us. There he is above with his pontoon and Blondie.

It was really nice for us to have the campsite just to ourselves for a few hours. I really feel that this was a gift from God. We really just needed to be together after our ordeal.
Once we got our tents and cook stove set up, we set up our awning over the water and put our lawn chairs right in the water. It was so hot and we were all exposed to so much sun today, so this felt wonderful! It was so nice to finally be able to relax. Needless to say, the boat accident was the main topic of conversation! Above is Cameron, Hayden and Grayson relaxing in the water.
Mackenzie and Brittany. Mackenzie still does not feel well, but he's getting better.
Eric and I finally able to relax. We are so thankful that all of our kids are okay!
The love of my life for over thirty years!
So happy together!
Brittany and me.
Grayson hugging Blondie. After we got settled Eric and Dustin took the boat just across the river where there's a great fishing hole and they went fishing!
Slowly our friends joined us at the campsite. Here's Garrett showing his wonderful catch of fish!
Garrett's lovely mother, Nicole.
Chris and Erica.
So much activity!
Eventually everyone docked their boats, unloaded, set up their sites and joined us at the water's edge to relax in the shade before dinner. It was so hot! I think it got up to about 95 degrees out!
Beautiful Brittany.
Grayson being so funny with his snorkel and his telescope.
Here's everyone checking out the haul of fish that were caught today for our big fish fry we had planned for dinner!
We got some beauties! They're small mouth bass and they are delicious!
All the men took the fish downstream and cleaned them. They just put a card table out in the water and went to work!
This river is so beautiful and this campsite is lovely!
It was so nice to finally be able to relax and enjoy our time after our horrific morning.
The sun is starting to go down.
Grayson caught a little shut eye!
Time for dinner!
Mmmm! Fresh fried fish right out of the river! Delicious!
Sitting around the fire eating a wonderful meal!
Mackenzie and Brittany.
Eric in front of the fire.
We had our delicious dinner, now it's time for smores! We had a lot of fun talking and laughing around the fire, then we hit the hay and for well deserved good night's sleep. As I was falling asleep I was thanking God for keeping my family safe today. Thank you, thank you, thank you God!

"The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him; and the Lord shall cover him all the day long." Deuteronomy 33:12

"I will both lay me down in peace and sleep; for though, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. " Psalm 4:8
