This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Into each life some rain must fall...

"Into each life some rain must fall."
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

We have had soooo much rain here in Oregon this spring, it's been kind of crazy. I am a native Oregonian and I usually really love the rain and enjoy it, but this year it has been a bit much. On this day all of the sudden we heard the rain just take off and go nuts! It was just pounding on the roof and back deck. We quickly looked outside and saw this...
It was pouring buckets!
Within minutes our street was flooded! Can you see the faint waterline down there at the end of the driveway? Normally it might be 3 to 6 inches wide and today within minutes it was about five or more feet wide!
I remember when the boys were little they would love to play in rain storms like this. They would throw on a rain coat, yank on their rubber boots and head out to play! They loved to cover the storm drains with old boards which would create a dam of sorts and cause "lakes" in the street! Then they would make boats out of foil, corks and duct tape and float them! They would have so much fun!!! Oh, those were the good old days!
The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain.
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
- Richard Cushing

Wow, now the water has really risen! Can you see it going all the way out into the street?
This is not a normal thing!
There's a lake out there!
Eric is making sure that our drainpipes are not clogged with debris.
Our gutters are overflowing!
If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with a little rain.
~Dolly Parton
The gutters were overflowing into our hanging baskets and causing them to overflow!
Even though I've lived here my whole life, seeing it rain like this is actually quite exciting and fun! It's crazy how quickly this rain storm came and then left again. I love Oregon!

"You sent abundant rain, Oh God, to refresh the weary land." Psalm 68:9

Hi Sharon,
We are getting pounded with rain today, not quite as much as you all, but enough that our pond is to the brim.
Enjoyed the photos and quotes.
