This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

My studly helper...

I love running errands with my husband. I don't know why, it's just fun. We have done this occasionally, here and there over the past many years,  but lately we do it more and more. I guess because before we had four little ones at home, so we would take turns running errands or I would go and take two kids and he would go another direction with two kids, etc. Lately though, with our kids all grown up, we have more time to do simple things like this together and I LOVE it!
I really love it when he comes to the store with me.
He's such a big help to me with things like bagging and....
....pushing the cart. It makes grocery shopping and errand running much more fun!
He's easy on the eyes too! Wink!

Sleepy boy....

He had to be at work this morning at 4:45 am and off at 7:45 am. He came home and had some breakfast. I left the room for something and when I came back I found him and Blondie sound asleep on the couch! School didn't start until 10:00 this morning, so he got a little shut eye before going. I thought this was so cute! I am so proud of him, he is a junior in high school and in school right now, he is on the football team practicing 4 days a week from 3:30 to 6:00, playing in a football game on Friday night, doing his homework and chores around the house plus working about 15 hours a week. He's doing so good. I am rally proud of him.

Fall decorations....

The mornings are chilly and the afternoons are hot with a crispness in the air. Fall is here! I finally got around to getting out my fall decorations and I thought I would share them with you. Here's a fun little display that I have on my coffee table in the living room.
I put silk leaves and vintage glass beads on our fireplace mantle.
It's like room jewelry!
In the dining room I put a pretty fall colored tablecloth on the table and placed a cornucopia filled with fall's bountiful harvest!
A cute cloth pumpkin sits atop my lil green chair!
I didn't do much to my cookbook shelf, I just hung my neato pheasant Fire King coffee cup and placed a battery votive inside.
I jammed in a lot of  stuff on my windowsill this year.
I think it looks so cozy!
The main theme is squirrels and nuts.
I love these two little patterned squirrels!
Here's two more vintage chipmunks standing guard over a picture of my darling husband!
Tomatoes from the garden sitting on top of two vintage brown transferware dishes.
These old wise owls are new finds this year. Arent' they cute! I found them both at Goodwill!
My sister, Kathi, gave me this beautiful cookbook called Bless this Food. It's perfect for a fall display. I found the pumpkin creamer at a thrift store for .50 cents. It's really old and cool!
My rag swag that I have displayed for many years.
A cute squirrel picture with a candle and an beat up old chubby scarecrow make a fine display on top of the computer desk!
I'm nuts about this display! hahaha! It's simple, yet effective!
I found this cool pumpkin book this year and simply leaned it against the wall and placed an antique basket filled with pine cones in front of it.
I am really loving owls, especially vintage looking ones. Here's a cute wooden one from the 70s nestled in with a beaded pumpkin and a fall votive holder that I have on the powder-room counter.
I didnt' do a big display on our entryway table this year, just a pumpkin and some pheasants.
This little pumpkin-head scarecrow has always been a favorite of mine. The wise old owl is a new thrift store find this year.
Okay, let's head out side now. Here's my fall front door wreath.
I placed a couple of old crows on my little flower box shelf with some candles in vintage kitchen tins.
I love this old wooden wheelbarrow. I pull it out every fall and fill it with harvest tools. I would love to have it filled to the rim with pumpkins, but I always forget to plant them in June!
I love this old rusty dutch oven. In years past I have filled it with water and added acorns or hazelnuts which float and add floating candles to it, it looks so cute!
I stacked up some old wooden fruit crates and filled them with fun fall items. My front porch looks like the front of an old country store! haha!

Wow, what a beautiful morning!
I went out side to go on my walk with my neighbor, Shelley, and I noticed how warm and gorgeous it was outside. I ran back inside and grabbed my camera and took a few shots. Can you see the tiny moon? It looks like it's just getting ready to hide for the day.
The sun is just starting to rise.
Good morning world!
There's my cozy house!
God's beauty is everywhere!
It's important to stop and take notice of the things He does for us. It's important to give thanks to Him for everything. It's important to stop and take notice of the one who made everything!
There's a friendly kitty that always comes out to greet Shelley and I when we walk by. He's so cute. I wonder what he's doing up so early! I wonder if he's enjoying the sunrise too!

Grayson's Go Kart!

Grayson has been making improvements on his buggy that's he's made from scratch. Wow, I can't believe how big and beefy it's gotten to be! It's a real beast!!! Click here to read about how he made it and a lot of other things.
He's got it all loaded up and he's taking it out to the sand dunes to go four-wheeling in it. I sure hope it will be safe and that he has a really fun time!
Dad's making sure things are battened down properly and it's really secure on the trailer.
I am so proud of him! I can't believe he made that with his own two hands. I hope he has a blast out there today!

Bye Grayson! Have a really fun day and come home safely to us!

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Cameron met a girl....

This is my son, Cameron, with his new friend Megan. Isn't she a pretty girl!
Aren't they a cute couple! They met each other while working at Target and then they started hanging out together.
They had a real fondness for each other, but were taking it really slow. The first time we met her was on New Year's eve 2009 (soon to be 2010).
The whole family welcomed her and enjoyed her company!
Well time went on and they kept hanging out. They are always so funny; in this picture they are trying to look "emo".
He invited her to our annual Cinco de Mayo party and she even got on the stilts! What a trooper! I love how Cameron is holding onto her.
You can just see their chemistry!
They hiked a local mountain....
...and did the splits on the sidewalk!
They went camping with a group of friends. I love this picture of them doing a crossword puzzle by flashlight!
The next day they realized they forgot coffee mugs, so they made them out of pop cans and duct tape!
Megan got fancy with hers!
Who's the winner? I think probably Megan!
Hmmm....I wonder what he did to deserve this??? hahaha! Of course this is just a staged picture!
They really have fun together.
Well, they are not quite official, but Cameron told me that they had a long talk and they are exclusive to each other and committed to each other, but they are still going slow. They basically are courting. I am thrilled. I have been praying for a sweet girl for him for a long time and God has blessed him! They have a lot in common. The best thing is that she is a strong Christian and they attend church together. I am so thankful!
