This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Basketball Madness!!!!

Another basketball season has come and gone and we got to watch this cutie play! Hayden is a sophomore and played on the JV team for the Bulldogs; he actually got asked to play on the varsity team a few times, which was such an honor!
Football is my favorite sport to watch, but basketball is fun too. It is really nice to watch it in a warm, dry comfortable gym compared to being outside in the cold for the football games!
Eric and I try to go to every single one of our kids games and events. I think Eric watched every one of Hayden's basketball games this season, but I had to miss a couple because they were out of town and I had to work.
Hayden is especially fun to watch because he's so fast!
He also shoots a lot and usually makes it! :0)
I'm a typical proud mama and take way too many pictures!
Swish!
Go Bulldogs! Go #14!
Grayson and me watching the game on his 19th birthday!
My sister, Kathi, and her daughter, Jessica, and I watching the Bulldogs!
Eric and his father, Jim, absorbed in the game!
My nephew Garrett!
Hayden with Garrett after the game!
Grandpa Jim and Grandma Alice, perhaps the world's best fans!!!
Good dribbling Hayden!
Going up for a lay-in for two points!
Another nice lay-in for two! Good job Hayden!
Go #14!
Two points!
Two more points!
And two more points!!!! Good job Hayden!
The team with coach Joe after the last game of the season that they won!!!
The team celebrating after another victory! They had a great season winning 16 out of 20 games! It's sad the season is over, but now track is right around the corner!!!

Fish on!!!

Did I mention that my husband is an avid outdoorsman?
And we've raised four sons who are avid outdoorsmen? Well, tis true! Look at these two giant Spring Chinook (Salmon) that our youngest son, Hayden, caught on the Umpqua river!
Getting a little help from Dad while posing for the picture!
He had a hard time lifting them up!
Good job Hayden! They're beauties!
Eric goes fishing at least once a week if not more from February thru May.
They do not look pretty or smell pretty, but boy howdy, they taste good!!! Mmmmm! I'm so thankful that my husband is such a good fisherman and provides us food for our family!

"One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”

When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink." Luke 5:1-7

A sweet moment....

I came back home from my early morning 6:00 am walk and saw this when I opened the door. It just warmed my heart.
Eric was going into work late on this day, so he was casually drinking coffee visiting with Grayson who had to leave for work in a half hour. The house felt so warm and cozy when I walked it and it touched my heart to see two of my men sitting there talking and having coffee! It is so neat to realize that our sons have grown to be men, and now instead of father son conversations over milk, it's man to man conversations with coffee!

I love how Blondie has her head in Grayson's lap. It is so darling. This is just a little snap shot of my blessed life that the Lord has given me. I think it's good to stop and take notice of these things!

Bowled over!

Eric, Hayden and I went bowling after church last Sunday. Here I am standing in the parking lot ready to get my game on! But real quick, before we go inside, I wanted to show you my fun new purse! Isn't it just so cute! It's pink and brown flannel and I found it at Goodwill for $2.99! I put together this whole brown and pink outfit around it!!! Okay, enough about that, now let the games begin!!!!
Hey, bowling shoes aren't what they used to be! They are still pretty ugly, but they are much improved! They now also have Velcro instead of shoe laces!
Now the fun part.....choosing my winning ball!
This looks perfect! It's red and white striped....my favorite colors, this has got to be a good sign!!!! Hey, I actually think this bowling ball would look cute in my house! Hee, hee! Just kidding!
Wish me luck!!!
I did pretty darn good...only one pin is standing!
Here's Hayden's ball!
Hayden has a very unique style of throwing his ball. He doesn't put his fingers in the three little holes, instead he palms it and throws it really hard kind of like how you skip a rock!
Strrrrriiiiikkkee!!!!!!! Even though his style is unconventional, it works!!!!
He's trying not to grin, but you can see he's bursting with pride!
Eric's turn!
He looks happy!
We're having fun at the bowling alley!
Check out the score board!!! Check out who's winning! Yup....it's me!!! Whoot whoo!!! V.I.C.T.O.R.Y!!!!!
I finally can beat my hubby in something! He is so athletic, strong and talented that he beats me in everything....but not today my friend!!!
It looks like he's going to pick up a spare!!!
Yep! He did!!!
Well, he beat me this time, but overall I had a higher score; Hayden had 199, Eric had 247 and I had 271! I was bowled over by my score!!! lol! Yea! This was really fun!

Eric and I have been talking about finding some new things we can do together as a couple when our little nest becomes empty when the kids are all grown and moved out, and we think that joining a co-ed bowling league will be a great thing for us to do! We both like it, it's something we can compete in at basically the same level, it's affordable, we can meet some new friends and it's something we can do up into our 80s! I think that would be super fun and I'm really looking forward to it!

Thank you Lord for this great day with my husband and son!!!!
