This blog is simply the story about my little life
with my sweet family that the Lord has blessed me with
and the day in, day out things that we do.
It basically is my online diary/photo album of our life.
I'm glad you're here!

Making Christmas goodies!

Tis the season to make home-made goodies! Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la! And it's super fun when you have a couple of cute elves helping make them!
Brittany and Megan came over Sunday after church to help me make my traditional Christmas candies!
I am so grateful for these two special girls! What big helpers they were!
First we melted down white almond bark.
Then we crushed cinnamon disks and laid them out on a cookie tray and poured the melted white chocolate over them.
Then we melted chocolate almond bark.....
.....broke stick pretzels and laid them on a cookie sheet and....
...poured the melted chocolate almond bark over them.  We also made a tray of marshmallows, raisins and nuts and poured the melted chocolate over them. We set the trays in the dining room to cool and after they hardened and then we broke them up into small pieces.
Next we made a new treat that I found on the internet. It's so simple and they look so beautiful! You simply lay mini pretzels out on a cookie sheet and set a Rolo caramel chocolate on top of each one. Then you put them in the oven at 350 for 3-5 minutes until the Rolo's are softened, but not melted.
Then you take pecan halves and smash them into the melted Rolo's.
Voila! They're done! Aren't they pretty!
After that we divided up all of the candy and put them in prepared tins.
These turned out to be such pretty gift candies!
We also made Christmas Clusters, which were so simple too.
We just melted 1 cup each of chocolate chips, peanut butter chips and butterscotch chips and then added 1 cup of dry roasted peanuts and 1 cup of broken pretzels. We dropped one tablespoon at a time on a cookie sheet and let them cool. They turned out fabulous!
Mmmm! Delicious!
Not only did we make wonderful Christmas goodies for our friends and neighbors, but we had such a fun afternoon together! I love my girls!

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart." Psalm 37:4

Hugs, Sharon
